On the Senior Match website
For many single seniors, especially at or near retirement age, this stage of life is the perfect time to rediscover romance and meaningful companionship. SeniorMatch offers a vibrant community where like-minded singles over 50 can connect in a vibrant, respectful space. The site fosters a sense of maturity, ensuring members engage with others who share their life experience and outlook. Whether you're looking for a romantic partner or simply a companion to travel or spend time with, SeniorMatch provides the opportunity to meet other singles ready to explore and redefine their next chapter of life.
This is where the "cool kids" hang out
Activity is abuzz at SeniorMatch. There are more than 260,000 U.S. members, more than 10,000 members active weekly, and the ratio of single men to single women is quite close to 50:50. A large majority of the members are either divorced or widowed, indicating that they probably have already found love at least once in their lives, and they know what they're looking for in a companionship or relationship in this next chapter.
Technology made easy for seniors
When you join any dating site, you'll be expected to use your computer or other device to create the account, post a photo, and more. And, there may be lingo that seniors may not be familiar with, such as a wink, private album, and more. Thankfully, SeniorMatch understands that those of a certain age could often use a little help to be savvy on a dating site, so their help/FAQ page helps seniors navigate SeniorMatch like a pro.

Looking for a senior discount?
From time to time, SeniorMatch will offer discount codes for up to 50% off, depending on the subscription plan you choose. Many users report receiving a discount offer as they complete their profile setup, so they didn't have to search for a discount code.
You can't do much for free
When you sign up, you automatically get the free account. You can create your profile, browse limited profiles, send "winks," and view some content. The free access to SeniorMatch allows you enough to see how many single seniors are in your area and find out if there are some you'd like to start communicating with.
Free access is a nice start
When you sign up for your SeniorMatch account, you can complete your profile, add photos, reply to messages and online chats, access members' first date ideas, post your first date ideas, send someone a wink, and request access to a private album.
Premium features give you a lot more freedom
With a paid Premium subscription to SeniorMatch, you can initiate chats and messages, check how often a user replies to messages, view their last login time, see the list of new members, search by state or zip/postal code, hide certain members from search results, and more. As the more personalized tier of service, Premium gives you priority customer care plus your own account manager.

Use SeniorMatch on the go
Whether your device is Android or iOS, there's a SeniorMatch app for you. The app lets you have quick and easy access to all of the same features the website offers. Let's say you're in a waiting room, hanging out in the park, or taking a walk: you can quickly check to see if someone has answered your message, you can answer theirs promptly, "wink" at someone, or just let someone know you're thinking of them. Communication on SeniorMatch doesn't require you to take time out of your day to sit at the computer; just hop on the app while you're about your day.
We've found our SeniorMatch
SeniorMatch is thoughtfully designed for seniors looking for love or companionship - and the many success stories speak for themselves. It offers a safe, easy-to-use space with helpful features, personal support for Premium members, and a layout that feels just right for older adults. Like any dating site, there's always a chance of running into scammers, so it's smart to stay cautious with personal or financial info. That said, SeniorMatch remains one of the safest and most genuine senior dating platforms, with a vibrant community of real people ready to find someone special, and why we have rated it as our top choice.

On the Silver Singles website
SilverSingles started out in 2002 under the name PrimeSingles then changed to Single Seniors Meet in 2009. Two years later, it became SilverSingles and has been so for more than a decade, having the recipe for helping seniors to find and create meaningful relationships. SilverSingles calls itself a tight-knit community that can help you find local singles with whom you can share your interests, and form lasting relationships. They run checks on profiles daily to see which members are active on the site and to help ensure safety of each user.
Free access gets you very little
As you may imagine, you get very little when you pay nothing - but you can get some insights. You'll get to take SilverSingles' in-depth personality questionnaire, view profile information, send smiles to people, get matching suggestions, and add a member to your "Favorites" list. Although you can't do enough to start really engaging with prospective SilverSingles matches, you can see how many members are within a reasonable distance from your home and you can find out what kind of people use the site. This should give you enough information to decide if you want to pay for full access or if you should move on.
The personality questionnaire is worth the time investment
At first glance, the in-depth personality questionnaire on SilverSingles might feel a bit overwhelming, but it's actually a smart time-saver in the long run. By taking about 20 minutes while answering honestly and thoroughly, users help SilverSingles deliver more accurate, compatible matches. Instead of endless scrolling through random profiles, you'll receive up to seven hand-picked matches each day, tailored to your preference and personality.

Log in daily for best results
Each day that you log in, you should see between three and seven matches. You will also gain algorithm favor as SilverSingles prioritizes members who are most active on their site when making match recommendations.
Where are these 100,000 members?
SilverSingles has more than one hundred thousand members from the USA alone with 5,000 daily logins. Yet, one of the biggest complaints from dissatisfied users is that most of their suggested matches from SilverSingles aren't within the location radius they chose - in fact, not even close. So, either the members aren't geographically desirable for these users or the algorithm seems off. Our guess is that the unhappy users who aren't finding people nearby might be in smaller, more rural towns.
Apps are available
Whether you have iOS or Android, there's a SilverSingles app you can use. Why not check messages and look at your new matches on the go? You very much can, quite easily, with the SilverSingles app.
Yes, there's life after 50
On the SilverSingles website, there's a section called "Well Being after 50," and it covers almost everything someone over 50 might experience in this chapter of their lives: time management, fashion after 50, coping with grief and loneliness, hobbies, vacations, and more. It's nice to have these articles handy for life in general or for dating purposes.

Safety is priority
Only paid members can send messages and view photos; members with the free version see blurred photos. In addition, there is a security system to detect fraud. SilverSingles also has employees who check profiles daily to be sure that people are there for the right reasons, eliminating potential scammers as soon as possible.
There's love in the air with SilverSingles
With SilverSingles, you'll find more than 100,000 members in the U.S. alone, a purpose-driven personality questionnaire, at least three matches sent to you daily, a top-notch security and safety system, and articles with themes that are important to those over 50. There's a lot to love about SilverSingles. The one thing that sticks with us is that if there are so many active members, why do some complain that they aren't sent matches that live in the same state as they do? Although yes, it makes us think, we know that SilverSingles has been kind to the users who have complained about this, saying they are willing to work with individuals, as maybe there's something that their service or tech department can remedy. On the whole, we're really happy with everything we see at SilverSingles - enough to give them one of the highest spots on our list of senior dating sites.

On the Match website
As one of the first players in the online dating world, Match has been setting the standard for dating sites since 1995. It's available in 16 countries and three languages, making it accessible to singles across the globe. Match's goal is simple: to help you find deeper connections, long-term relationships, and even love. With years of experience, its platform has continually evolved to meet the needs of all types of singles, including seniors seeking companionship.
Easy to get started
Whether you use Match's website or app, you'll start by answering basic questions like your age, gender, and birth date. After that, you'll fill out details for your profile, such as your appearance, education, ethnicity, and hometown. You can also add your hobbies and interests, and pick the qualities you want in a partner. To express your personality, there are some open-ended questions as well. The process is quick and intuitive, making it easy to dive right in.
Matching filters
Once you've completed your profile, the real fun begins. Match uses a detailed filtering system to help narrow down potential partners based on personality, lifestyle, and interests. For seniors, it's especially important to note your age range and preferences in the questionnaire. This ensures you're matched with people who fit both your personality and your stage of life. With thousands of members, having a robust filtering system ensures that you won't waste time on incompatible matches.

Reverse matching
Match goes a step further by allowing "reverse matching." Once you complete the questionnaire and Match knows more about you, not only do they send possible matches to you, but the algorithm allows you to be included in someone's search based on their compatibility search.
For free, you get a feel for the site
After you complete your profile, you can peruse Match at no charge, send an unlimited number of "likes," and message your top picks. With this trial period, you can find out how many seniors are available to determine if it's worth it for you to pay a subscription.
Standard membership
Once you decide to go for a paid membership, Match offers a Standard membership, which gives you full access to messaging, profile visibility, and the ability to see who has viewed you. You'll also be able to connect with individuals who have already matched with you, making it easier to start a conversation. What does it cost? Match can be pretty hush-hush with their pricing (possibly because there are often promos and discounts), but we'd say to expect a minimum of $24.99/month for a 3-month commitment.
Premium is more costly, but offers all options
If you're looking for all the bells and whistles Match has to offer, the Premium membership gives you a more comprehensive experience. In addition to everything included in the Standard membership, you'll get to see who's read your messages, who's viewed your profile, and receive extra perks like weekly Super Likes to boost your visibility. You'll also be able to see who else has upgraded, giving you access to a more serious pool of members. But, again, you'll have to wait and see what pricing Match offers you; expect it to be above $25/month with a 3-month minimum commitment.

The site with the most marriages
Match not only pioneered the dating site scene, but is also credited with more marriages than any other dating site. Fifty percent of Baby Boomers who met their current partner on a dating site say they met on Match.
A trusted choice for lasting connections
Match's long-standing reputation and widespread success speak for themselves. With many people finding lasting relationships through the platform, it remains a go-to choice for those serious about finding love. Match's largest growing age group is 50+, and we're confident you'll find more seniors than you'd expect. While the cost may be higher than other dating sites, the potential rewards - connecting with a true partner, and in your age range - may make it well worth the investment.

On the Eharmony website
Founded in 2000 and launched in 2003 by a clinical psychologist, eHarmony was one of the first algorithm-based dating sites to employ a lengthy questionnaire whose focus was to match compatible couples for long-term, meaningful relationships. Within three years of its launch, eHarmony had attracted over two million users, and to date, it has helped form over two million relationships in 125 countries.
Fantastic algorithm
Back when eHarmony first launched, their personality test was so thorough that the prospective members had to answer 450 questions, which definitely was a turn-off. Today, they've narrowed it down to 150 questions, and you won't hear many complaints. It still takes quite a while to fill out the matchmaking personality test, but members say it's worth the time to give eHarmony enough personal info as the thorough matching process results in better compatibility and ultimately, more meaningful connections.
It's a safe site
There are security features on eHarmony's site to keep you and your information protected. While no platform can promise 100% safety, users generally report feeling shielded from fake accounts and scammers. This trust is particularly reassuring for senior members who are cautious about the safety of online dating.

Everyone starts at "free"
With eHarmony's basic membership, you can take the compatibility quiz to learn more about yourself and what you're looking for in a relationship. You'll also be able to review matches, apply filters (such as age or religious preferences), send "likes," and browse profiles anonymously. However, messaging and more advanced features require a Premium Membership.
Premium Membership is where the magic happens
When you're ready to dive deeper into the dating process on eHarmony, sign up for Premium Membership, and receive access to the whole dating site and the app, and be able to communicate freely. The Premium plan allows you to choose enhanced search features, view photos of other members, and more.
A complicated pricing plan
eHarmony offers multiple subscription tiers: Premium Light, Premium Plus, and Premium Extra, and each level is made to meet different needs of the user. Once you choose your level, choose your subscription time, and the shortest is six months. Additionally, you can purchase add-ons such as boosting your profile or enhancing your visibility to enhance your chances of finding a match.
Articles on dating when you're 60+
Especially if you're new (again) to the dating scene at 60 or over, you can feel like a deer in the headlights. eHarmony has articles to enlighten and help you, well, wipe the dust off. They help you to navigate the steps to senior dating with success, what to expect when dating, how easy it is (or may not be) to fall in love again, what most singles over 60 want in a relationship, and more. What if you're seasoned, but not over 60? Simple: in your questionnaire, remember to select the age you're looking for in a partner.
Seasonal discounts
If you're looking for ways to save, eHarmony occasionally offers seasonal discounts or promo codes. It's worth keeping an eye out for these offers, especially if you're on a budget but still interested in using the platform's full features.

One of the more expensive dating sites
At a starting price of around $40 per month, you may question if eHarmony's price is worth it for you. Most people say yes. Although it's pricey, eHarmony is one of the most successful at matching potential relationship partners. So, yes, you can put a price on finding love.
Great dating site, but with a matching price tag
With over two million successful relationships facilitated by eHarmony, its reputation for helping people find long-term love is well-earned. The site is user-friendly, offers apps for convenience, and its extensive questionnaire helps you better understand what you're looking for in a relationship. While eHarmony's subscription cost can be a consideration, the quality of matches you receive may make it worth the investment as a senior dating site.

On the OkCupid website
OkCupid began as a social experiment created by four Harvard students who were already well known for launching SparkNotes. They wanted to bring something new to online dating by adding fun, quirky personality quizzes alongside the Myers-Briggs, forming what was originally called SparkMatch. In 2001, Barnes and Noble bought SparkNotes, so the four co-founders concentrated their efforts on OkCupid. OkCupid's questions are fun and intriguing, such as, "Do you enjoy horror movies? Have you ever wanted to chuck it all and live on a sailboat?" Those who may be tired with the same-old dating app questions, such as seniors who may have heard such rote questions most of their lives, might enjoy the refreshing ones on OkCupid. OkCupid has over 50 million users worldwide, and maintains that privacy and safety are their highest values.
Free membership is better than you'd think
OkCupid's free version offers more access than most dating apps, allowing you to "like" a limited number of profiles daily. While you can't see who liked you, you do get one SuperLike each week and can also view who has SuperLiked you. You can send and receive one intro at a time, and receive daily matches through Cupid's Picks, showing how well you connect. Plus, you can sift through over 5,000 filters or questions to encounter potential matches who have the same interests as you.

Basic membership
For $14.99 when you sign up for 6 months, or $44.99 for just one month, OkCupid's basic membership lets you send unlimited "likes" and "deal breakers." You'll never see ads, and you can unlock your intros, but you can't see who likes you - a fun, but frustrating mystery - so we suggest the Premium membership for the whole picture.
Premium membership unlocks it all
You'll get all of the above features, plus see who likes you. Although this feature can add about $10 per month, it's just a good idea to see who likes you to see if you want to reach out for that connection.
So what if it isn't specifically for seniors?
OkCupid is for all adult singles, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, and more. For seniors looking to connect with others in their age group, the platform's detailed questionnaire lets you specify your desired age range, ensuring that you'll be matched with people who meet your preferences.
The app helps you sift through matches
The OkCupid app, available for iOS as well as Android devices, contains the same features as the website. However, if you want the swiftness of swiping, you can do that on the app; swipe right if you like them, left if you don't. Swiping left and right may seem like it's for the younger generations, but these "kids" have got the right idea. If at first glance, someone's photo or profile isn't right for you, either swipe them away or swipe them into your "potential" file.

Mixed reviews
OkCupid has a love/hate relationship with its users. Those who love the site are more rare these days. The more recent reviewers seem to be unhappy with the quantity of fake profiles, that the requested gender isn't coming up as matches, and that the features that they paid for aren't available to them.
Cupid's arrow narrowly missed
We have to admit that OkCupid really is a refreshing dating site with filters for age, which is pleasing for senior singles. They ask creative questions that encourage you to start conversations with potential matches, they let you know with a percentage how compatible someone should be for you, and they are reasonably priced, especially in comparison to the more pricey well-known senior dating sites. But when users aren't getting the features that they're promised or are misled by fake profiles, especially when safety is supposedly a priority to this company, we have to say OkCupid just missed our heart.

On the Plenty of Fish website
In his spare time, Markus Frind, an average joe who loved computer programming, created a blog about his programming projects, one of them being a dating site called Plenty of Fish. At that time, there were only a few online dating sites - some of which still dominate the market today. But Frind didn't want users to buy subscriptions or pay for extra features, so he'd create revenue instead through ads. It worked - Plenty of Fish gained thousands of users each day, and it became one of the largest dating sites in the world. In 2015, Frind sold his company to one of the major dating-site players, and now someone else has the reins.
One of the less expensive sites
One of the appealing aspects of Plenty of Fish is its low price. At around $5 per month for a year-long Premium membership, it's one of the most budget-friendly dating sites around. For seniors who want to dip their toes in without making a big financial commitment, it's a manageable price. However, be prepared to face some limitations unless you're willing to pay for extra features.

Premium perks hook you in
When you pay for the Premium Plenty of Fish subscription, you can reel in some worthwhile features such as advanced search filters, increased profile visibility, enhanced match suggestions, unlimited messaging, and priority support. You'll also get rid of any annoying ads.
Free allows you a glimpse, not the whole fish bowl
Think about what features you would want in a dating site, and you'll get a small portion of many of them for free at Plenty of Fish. You have only basic search filters, restricted profile views, "standard" matches, and limited messaging capabilities, all while having ads pop up.
Too few senior fish in the sea
For seniors looking to fish for love, Plenty of Fish might leave you wishing for a bigger pond. A 2020 survey showed that just 12% of users between 55 and 64 and only 5% of those 65 and older are active on the site. The biggest catch tends to be in the 40s and early 50s demographic, but even within this group, the site claims only a 15% market share. If you're hoping to find a senior-heavy crowd, you may want to cast your line elsewhere.
The waters can be murky when looking for happy users
When it comes to Plenty of Fish, reviews are a mixed catch. Some users are happy with the matches presented to them. Many, however, gripe about the unrealistic expectations of their potential matches, saying that those people are rude and demand the perfect specimen. However, their own criticisms of their potential matches might raise your eyebrows: only "short and balding" men, and "too many fat women with glasses", or "too many tattoos". One man said he couldn't find a "lady of good breeding." With all these crazy complaints, it's hard not to think, "It's not them, it's you."

We're not happy with this fishing spot
Plenty of Fish had a great start in 2003, when happy users enjoyed full access to the site for free. Now you don't get a lot for free and you find users who aren't happy with their "catches." Plenty of Fish needs to find the magic that it had at its inception: they "fixed" a good thing when it wasn't broken. We can't help but wonder if Plenty of Fish put more effort into its personality questionnaire and filters, senior singles might find more compatible matches.
On the Plenty of Fish website

On the OurTime website
Typically, when you become a member of a dating site, you can be asked over a hundred questions and it feels like being hit by a ton of bricks. OurTime, however, starts you out easy. They ask you three simple questions: what's your ideal date, are you a morning or night person, and do you have a preference for sweet or savory? They'll send you a list of suggested people, and when you respond positively or negatively, the algorithm learns that information so they can send you more compatible matches next time.
Dating and/or friendship options
Unlike many dating sites that focus exclusively on romantic relationships, OurTime recognizes that seniors might be in different life stages and may not always be looking for a long-term romantic partner. Especially if you're in a new chapter of life due to divorce, losing a spouse, or moving to a new area, it's nice to meet new people for friendship, travel, or a plus-one for social events.
You don't have to be a senior to sign up
Although OurTime is primarily for seniors, it's also for those who would like to date seniors. This results in a somewhat surprising mix of ages, with some members well under 50. This can lead to confusion or frustration if you're specifically seeking someone in your age range.
This or that?
There's a fun section on OurTime's site that only requires a click and not a long answer. For example, when they ask you "Beatles or Elvis," you can just choose your fave, and if you like, you can tell a fun story. This way, you'll have good conversation starters when you find others who made the same "This or That?" choice you did.

Free access has a bit more than you'd think
Unlike many other dating sites, OurTime allows you to actually try it out a bit. You can receive up to 12 Top Picks daily, send unlimited "likes," see who Super Likes you, and have unlimited messaging. Especially for seniors, getting to actually use the site for a bit before subscribing is worthwhile before deciding to invest in the full membership.
Standard membership doesn't deliver enough
If you subscribe for standard membership with OurTime, you think you're getting more than you actually do. The only benefit above the free access is that you can unlock conversations with matches and send unlimited messages. This might be fine for some, but if you're really looking for the most the site can offer you, we'd suggest Premium access.
Premium membership allows full access
When you subscribe with OurTime, you'll have access to all of the above, plus you can see who's read the messages you've sent. You can send a weekly Super Like, have unlimited Rewinds, and get a Monthly Boost, so you'll have a better chance to be seen and noticed by others.
Pricing confusion
OurTime lists their subscription prices in "per week," and no one else does that. So, you'll have to grab the calculator or your trusty #2 pencil and do the math to figure out what each subscription price would be per month, as that's where the difference lies between subscription packages. You must note that full payment is expected up front, whether you choose the 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscriptions. Expect to pay a minimum of $12.99 per month.
Always beware of scammers
Scammers are just getting better at it, we'd all agree. Senior dating sites are prime territory for scammers, regardless of the safety parameters that are set up. The users that are quite unhappy with OurTime, though, say that they've encountered not only fake profiles, but also those who ask for money. Never give money to anyone that you meet on any site, dating or otherwise.

Inaccurate matches
While OurTime promises to match you with people who fit your profile, many users report receiving potential matches that don't match their criteria at all. From people who are far too young (under 50) to profiles that are outside their physical preferences, these mismatched suggestions can make it hard to take the site seriously. It raises questions about the service's algorithm and how effectively it's matching users.
Poor customer service
Some have found themselves with technical issues, such as getting locked out. Others have been kicked out or blocked, even with appropriate content, and they aren't told why. One of these users was told it was their browser's fault for the technical issue, and to contact the maker of the browser (!). Still another was told to pay OurTime's tech $85 to review the problem. You can't call OurTime to dispute an issue, and many seniors prefer the phone to impersonal emailing or searching for answers on the website, but that's how OurTime wants you to communicate with them.
OurTime needs some love and care
While OurTime does offer a clean design, user-friendly features, and some great options for seniors looking for companionship or love, the site still falls short in some key areas. Irrelevant matches, scams, a confusing pricing structure, and lack of support have made it difficult for us to give OurTime a higher rating. Until they address these issues and improve their customer service, we can't recommend it to seniors looking for a seamless online dating experience.

On the Singles50 website
Singles50 is a dating site designed specifically for mature singles who are serious about finding a meaningful connection. While it can be a bit more expensive than some of its competitors, Singles50 offers a variety of features that help members get to know each other beyond just a photo and a short bio. The site includes a detailed personality inventory, helpful icebreakers to start conversations, private messaging, and even video chat - all tools meant to create real connections. There's also a mobile app, making it easy to stay in touch with Singles50's matches on the go. However, it's worth noting that the free membership is quite limited - you won't be able to view profile photos, and messaging options are minimal without upgrading to a paid plan.
Stingy on the free membership
Pretty much all you can do with a free membership on Singles50 is set up an account. That means you would set up a profile, take the personality test, and upload photos. You can only read one message, and that's the initial one. Any others will be blurred out. You won't be able to read other messages or send any, either. If you want to get anything from the Singles50 website or app, you'll need to have a paid membership.
All about the cookies
When you hop on Singles50's homepage and decide to peruse, you can't see anything or click on anything unless you agree to their cookie policy. You, may, of course, take the time to see their privacy policies in their settings. You can also accept only their necessary cookies with a few clicks. If you want full access, accept the cookies.
Matchmaking skills
Singles50 uses an advanced compatibility algorithm to provide matches for you, based on your answers to the personality test. During your subscription period, Singles50 assures you of at least 10 introductions. You can also search for your own matches by viewing profiles, send private messages, and make video calls - all of which comes with a Premium subscription (from $19.99 to $59.99 per month).

Commonalities among members
Although Singles50 leads you to believe that all the members are ages 50 and above, the majority are actually aged 40 and above. Even so, those 40 and above would be experienced singles who have lived a while and know what they want out of life and relationships. The other factor is that it's about half and half, men and women, so there's pretty much a fair dating pool here.
Compatibility
Do opposites attract or is it time to look for someone with a similar personality? When you visit someone else's profile on Singles50, you'll see your compatibility with that person in terms of rationality vs. emotionality, tradition vs. innovation, distance vs. attachment, observation vs. feeling. All of these ratings were determined when taking the personality test upon registering. You can also use these personality traits as a springboard to start conversation.
It's better to be a woman here...
If you're a woman, you can send messages to other users with your free membership to Singles50. If you're a male, you can only send one message for free.
You can get the app
There's an app available for Singles50 for both Android and iOS. Check out your messages and even send some while you're on the go using the app.

Can you really cancel your subscription?
Some have had success in cancelling their subscription. Others have found it near-to-impossible to cancel here, even though Singles50 gives three clear methods to cancel: send a letter to their address in Luxembourg, email them, or change the settings in your profile. You must send notice at least 14 days before your subscription period ends. Some frustrated users have said they've been charged even though they have gone through the appropriate steps to cancel. We also read that the profile must be deleted before you cancel the subscription, so that perhaps may be an unfortunate caveat that some members have not read in the fine print.
Too many customers are unhappy
There are so many people who are unhappy with this senior dating site, especially with Single50's fee structure. Some people find that they are charged three times the amount they were supposed to have been. Others have cancelled their subscription, but they keep getting billed. With all the negativity around Singles50, we had to wonder if there are any happy customers. We didn't find many at all. Some of those did post that they were thrilled with the relationships they developed, but when we looked at their writing, we questioned the reviews' authenticity. We don't have enough confidence in Single50 to rate them any higher.

On the DateMyAge website
Launched in 1993, DateMyAge covers more than 40 countries, taking dating to an international level. The global emphasis is on Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America, and they encourage global connections rather than helping you find someone local.
Pay per action
Yes, that's how DateMyAge has referred to their "credit" system. If you're interested in being quite active on DateMyAge by sending messages, chatting, making video calls, and more, you'll pay for certain interactions with your credits. Beware, though, that some surprised customers have gotten a $1,000 charge on their bill for additional credits used. That brings us to our next topic: who is messaging you?

Free membership isn't what you'd expect
Free membership is too good to be true with DateMyAge. In order to have access to any profiles, or to message anyone, you'll have to sign up for a monthly subscription. There's no browsing for free. DateMyAge tells you, however, that there's free membership, and those who have this privilege are called featured members. These people pretty much "work" for their free access by being quite active on the site and fulfilling certain communication requirements.
Featured members... who are they, and what do they do?
Featured members on DateMyAge are allowed free access but must be online with DateMyAge at least eight hours a week, and update their photos monthly. They can only communicate with paid users, not other featured members. It gives off the vibe of "planted" singles. These featured members as well as paid entertainers (streamers) get free access to chat with paying users only.
Are we all over 40 here?
Supposedly DateMyAge is for members over 40, but some of the photos that pop up on the homepage are supposedly slightly under 40, and their photos make them look even younger. Are you suspicious yet?
Global dating focus
The emphasis of DateMyAge is on global dating, as they have a heavy presence in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. They believe that single people "want to search further afield for their special someone." If you're searching for a partner across the globe, DateMyAge seems willing to help. Local connections may not be easily found, however.

Communicate only via DateMyAge
Once you find a potential match on DateMyAge, it's natural that you might want to message or video chat outside of the app. And if you've found "the one," you'll want to not only message them, but probably quit your subscription. Not so easy, fella. You're not allowed to communicate outside of DateMyAge. Sharing contact information, according to unhappy users, is not permitted.
This doesn't feel like a relationship site
DateMyAge feels more like a platform for the lonely or curious to chat online, with a focus on active members and no contact info allowed. It gives off the vibe of a late-night ad where you pay to talk to someone attractive, with the costs piling up the longer you chat. If you're serious about dating, DateMyAge isn't the site for you. It's not for us, either, and so it earns one of our lowest ratings.
On the DateMyAge website

- Refers you to other senior dating sites
- Your cost is determined by which actual dating company you're recommended

On the Mature Dating Only website
Mature Dating Only has staff with almost 30 years of dating expertise and industry connections. They claim to be experts in the dating world, but they will tell you upfront that they are not computer experts, which is a huge red flag in a senior dating site. Be aware when you're on the home page and start filling out your name, birthdate, and income if you are "tired of dating games and ready to meet someone special.," as that's where the personal information-selling begins.
A suspicious setup
As you peruse the home page to find out all that Mature Dating Only has to offer, you'll notice that their descriptions seem to be somewhat poorly translated from other languages. When you select your income, there are four income ranges below $100,000, and only one for $100,000 and above. This range seems either antiquated or from overseas. We get a suspicious and slimy feeling right away.

Your information will be sold
Although most people don't ever read the Privacy Policy, reading the one on Mature Dating Only is super important. You are informed right away that any information you provide will be shared "in order to better serve our customer." They will warn you that if you don't want them to share any information, it's best you don't put any on their site.
Who gets your private information?
Mature Dating Only states quite clearly in their Privacy Policy that in order to get you the best matches, they will share your information with other dating sites, supposedly in order to increase your dating pool. Your information will be used for content improvement, for reaching you regarding your use of the website or products, and to bring you retail opportunities and promotional offers by email, direct mail, and telemarketing. In other words, they make money by selling your information, and they don't hide it.
Is this a real dating site?
Sort of. Instead of matching you directly, they send your information to other dating platforms or matchmaking services. You'll be referred to those sites and have to pay their subscription fees, with no guarantee of direct results from Mature Dating Only. This is why they claim to have the "world's largest database for seniors": they come from a pool of other dating sites. No one is more nervous about their information being sold and passed on than seniors, who tend to be the object of scammers.

No clear pricing
Mature Dating Only doesn't provide pricing - because they don't handle subscriptions themselves. Instead, they will refer you to other dating services, and you will pay their prices.
A disappointing choice
Long story short? Don't choose Mature Dating Only if you value the privacy of your personal information; you don't want anything or everything you submit to be widely distributed; you don't want emails, delivered mail, or telemarketing gushing in; you're thinking Mature Dating Only will directly match you with people, since they won't. Given this shady business model and lack of direct services, Mature Dating Only receives the lowest possible rating from us. It's not a senior dating site you can rely on for meaningful connections, and the privacy risks are too great. If you're looking for a safe and reliable platform for senior dating, there are much better options out there.

Is Online Dating Safe? Online Dating Tips Why Internet Dating is So PopularContinued from above...
Which dating site is best for those over 50?
Online dating isn't just for the younger generations anymore - seniors are swiping, chatting, and connecting like everyone else. With dating sites for seniors popping up everywhere, finding love, a companion for travel, or even someone to grab coffee with, has never been more within reach. But with so many choices, how do you know which dating site is the right one for you?
Thankfully, there are dating platforms made just for seniors, with no youngsters allowed. Whether you're divorced, widowed, or just finally ready to see what's out there, senior dating sites are built with your lifestyle, goals, comfort, and of course, safety, in mind.
Many senior dating sites are made to be easy to use, even if you're not very comfortable with technology. They often help you set up your profile step by step and ask questions to match you with the right people. Some even let you video chat before meeting in person, which can help you feel more at ease and get to know someone better before taking the next step.
Whether you're looking for love, a new friend, or someone who enjoys the same hobbies, senior dating sites can help you find that connection. With an open mind and a little time, you might meet someone who fits well with your life and values. That first message or smile in a photo could be the start of something really meaningful.
You'll be surprised at the wonderful dating sites with seniors in mind. You can choose to use dating sites that only have seniors as members - you know, those who have lived a little and know what they want in life. Or, you can choose a well-respected dating site with all ages, but you set the filters - or let the site know in the questionnaire - that you're only looking to date people over a certain age. When sites choose to focus on seniors, whether by definition or with filters, you'll often find conversation starters, safety tips, and a welcoming community of people who are in the same boat, looking to share the next chapter of life with someone special.
When deciding that you'd like to try online dating, especially for seniors, here are some points to consider:
- Be honest to find true matches. We've all heard the stories: someone meets a match whose photo was clearly from decades ago, or whose charming profile doesn't match up in real life. It happens. But if you're hoping to meet someone genuine, it starts with you. The more recent your photos and accurate your profile, the better chance the site's algorithm has of finding a potential senior match that truly fits.
- Don't avoid the lengthy questionnaires. It's those long questionnaires that help the algorithm get to know you and provide good matches for you. Remember that your potential matches have taken the time to answer the questions too, so take the time to do it well and boost your chances of finding someone compatible.
- Take a free peek first. Most senior dating sites offer a free membership where you can create a profile, browse some matches, and get a feel for the site. Once you do that, you should be able to not only get an idea of the ease of using the site, but usually you can peruse a few profiles, see how many live near you, and perhaps do a bit of messaging. Once you find a site that feels right, consider paying for a subscription to access full features.
- Stay smart, stay safe.Scammers can show up anywhere, but that doesn't mean you should avoid senior dating sites. It just means you should be smart. Never share personal or financial information with anyone online, no matter how friendly they seem. If something feels off, report it to the site. Most dating platforms take safety seriously and are there to help.
To help you find someone for a long-term relationship, a new friend, or perhaps a travel partner, Top Consumer Reviews has carefully reviewed senior dating sites to help you find the best and avoid the worst. Whether you choose a dating website or app, we're confident you can meet someone special.
Dating Profiles That Work
Most of us know people who have had great success using a dating website while other friends see little or no dating action. Often the reason between the two stories is simply their profile and what impression it gave off to potential suitors. Writing about yourself doesn't come natural and putting relationship needs and wants into a one page summary takes practice so it's easy for people to make mistakes.
Spend time figuring out what you want in a potential mate and then focus on the following attributes of your profile to improve your chances of attracting the right person.
Tone
The tone of your profile is one of the biggest aspects of the impression you give off. Do you sound confident and upbeat or lacking self confidence. Do you spend more time explaining what you don't want or more time talking about your interests in a positive light? A negative Nelly or a selfish Sally are big turn offs. A nice balance of what you can bring to the table as well as what you're lookingfor will attract attention from others.
Username
The username is often the first thing someone sees about your profile and will create an initial first impression. A user name that uses profane language or sexual content is likely to turn off many quality singles. In turn, a boring or meaningless username can also have the same effect. Spend time coming up with a username that favorably depicts you and will grab someone's attention.
Mistakes
Bad grammar and spelling can be a huge turn-off for most. This can give the impression that you're lacking brain power and wouldn't put much effort into a relationship. If the website doesn't offer spell check, cut and paste your writing into a word document and search for errors.
Pictures
A profile with no pictures typically receives very few inquiries if any. Appearance is an important aspect of finding someone you have a chemical response to and people tend to avoid those profiles lacking photos. Be sure to include at least one picture but adding various shots of you from face to full body is ideal.
Honesty
Be honest in what you write in your profile. If you really don't want to date anyone older than you than make sure you indicate an accurate age range, height, body shape, religion or any other aspect of a potential mate you find critical. Also be honest about yourself. Lying about your age, income, kids or anything else will eventually lead to failure.
Feedback
While it may seem a little awkward, ask a close friend that knows you to give you honest feedback regarding your profile. How does it sound? Does it send the wrong message. What would they change?
